Talk by Marta Sironi and Anna Frabotta
18:30Biblioteca Sormani Rarity, invention and self-education, with Anna Frabotta of Frab’s. The meeting highlights the rich magazine collection held by Biblioteca Sormani. Selected issues will be available to the public, who can join the conversation between Marta Sironi — historian of graphic design and illustration, and curator of the meetings — and Anna Frabotta, journalist and founder of Frab’s, the cultural project dedicated to independent magazines. The library has long privileged subscriptions to a great many periodicals, also as tools of self-education — a thread that continues in recent acquisitions of independent magazines, often deeply specialised and visually exacting. The meeting is part of the programme celebrating some of Sormani’s special collections on the library’s seventieth anniversary.
