Uprooted explores how colonialism and globalization have shaped furniture design, from formal aesthetics to materials, while disconnecting traditional practices from their cultural contexts.
The project gives life to a compendium that relocates a selection of furnishings within their cultural, historical, political, ecological and economic contexts. Divided into the Form & Material sections, the book analyzes culturally specific forms and materials, shaped by colonialism and global exchanges.
