Stefano Pellone is a visual designer and creative director based in Naples, co-founder of the design studio Bluelabs and the DESINA Festival of Graphic Design and Visual Cultures. His practice ranges from branding, typography, digital design, motion and visual experimentation, alongside his work as a teacher and educator in the field of visual communication.

10:00–18:00 Paper&People Have you ever wanted to design your own typeface, but didn't know where to start? This intensive weekend workshop is a great opportunity to start designing typefaces. Go beyond choosing the usual fonts from the font menu and create your own! In this two-day course you will learn the basics of designing and generating a variable font with the type design software Glyphs (only for Mac). In the Thursday session we will focus on the basics of creating a font. We'll look at how to design a simple set of uppercase letters, how to effectively manage letter spacing, how to integrate diacritics, and how to use punctuation. Friday we will create a bold version of the same typeface, develop a variable font, and animate it for use in a web browser or desktop application. Workshop registration will be announced shortly.
