He lives in Rome where he mainly deals with editorial graphics, developing, in particular, projects in the cultural field. His works are kept in numerous international public collections. He has curated several exhibitions on the subject of writing. Since 2002, he has taught at various universities including Sapienza, Iuav and Naba. He currently teaches at the ISIA in Urbino. He is one of the co-directors of the Scripture series. He is president of AGI Italy (Alliance Graphique Internationale).

Id-ictionary presents a selection of 70 posters made by designers who are members of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
The exhibition treats the poster as a visual language able to interpret and redefine words on the theme of sharing, and offers a view of contemporary research in international graphic design.
Silvana Amato’s curation brings design cultures into dialogue, and underlines the communicative and experimental force of authorial graphic design.
The exhibition will be open until 8.11.2026 during the opening hours of ADI Design Museum.

On the state of the art of contemporary Italian graphics, two factions oppose each other, that of the irreducible optimists and that of the pessimistic critics, giving rise to an open debate that ranges from university education to the world of work, up to the comparison between the domestic and foreign markets.
