Designing sensory accessibility in premium packaging
Premium packaging speaks for codes: glossy surfaces, tone-on-tone, subtle characters, minimal texts. They are choices that build perceived value but risk becoming barriers. Legibility is not just a matter of typeface, but of font, color, finishes, contrast, material.
This meeting goes through the packaging design process from the first physical element to the last informative detail: the material and surfaces (glossy or opaque films, transparencies, metallizations, flow packs, deformability), color and contrast as tools of recognizability, the ennoblements read as a potential functional and tactile language, up to typography and label design applied to the world of wine & spirits.
The goal is not to oppose accessibility and desirability, but to show that they can coincide: a readable, tactile, inclusive desirability is today a new form of quality and responsibility for brands.
