5X Letterpress is a graphic design and letterpress studio based in Saronno, on the outskirts of Milan.
Since 2018, 5X has specialized in the production of prints made exclusively with traditional typographic techniques, using old printing machines, lead and wood typefaces, stencils, laser-cut plates and experimental dies made with unconventional materials.
The concept behind 5X Letterpress is to design and print products by fusing the analogue printing method with contemporary aesthetics to create unique pieces – from posters and postcards to business cards for companies and events.
Behind the project is Davide Ferrario who, in addition to his work as a designer, teaches printing at CFP Bauer in Milan and typography and layout in other schools in Milan.
